A good judogi is at the heart of judo activity. Here at allthingsjudo we recognise, however, that what one person may want in a judogi is not necessarily what another is after. With that in mind we offer a range of kit, all of which, in their own way, have something to offer.
 
Allthingsjudo are proud to present the exclusive Otani judogi.
 
This kit is a light doubleweave kit originally designed for use by Olympic and professional judoka. Consequently despite being light it is superbly finished and very strong. It is an ideal kit for those that like to train in the same kit that they contest in. We believe in presenting this kit we are honour traditional values, yet give them a modern edge.
 
   
 
Some will say that a single weave kit is at the 'bottom' of the range, due to the fact that it uses less material and is, susequently cheaper. This is not a view we subscribe to. The singleweave Seishin judogi is a well made kit that is ideal not just for beginners, but for general training. It is reinforced in all the right areas and comes with elasticated trousers. Many top judoka prefer to train in such light kits, especially in the summer.
For those that prefer a heavier kit, we suggest that the best value for money judogi currently available is the Itaki heavyweight. This is a 875gsm kit, so it is not a super-heavyweight. Never-the-less it is a kit that is strong, comfortable and extremely well made.

The Otani Judogi  
Perfecting Tradition...
 

Otani is a family name from the Taira clan, whose crest was the Orange Blossom. This was an important national emblem of Japan before the chrysanthemum.The Taira clan was a major Samurai Warrior clan up to 1185 AD.

 The Otani kit has been specifically designed for traditional judo wear and carries the Orange Blossom crest on the eri as your guarantee of quality.

On the arm is the Otani ‘hanko’ as used by President Robin Otani of the British Judo Council, The hanko is something similar to a western signature stamp and is said to bring good fortune.
